Lake Baikal (Listvyanka, Russia - 23/06)

The famous lake Baikal is situated 70km east of Irkutsk, next to the
lakeside village Listvyanka. We did a little day trip there to have look if
the water is really that crystal clear. The lake is also called "Pearl of
Siberia" and it is said that you can see down as far as 40 meter. The lake
is shaped like a banana and measures 636km from north to south and 60km
from east to west. In the meantime it is the world deepest lake - 1637m near
the western shore. Arriving from Irkutsk where it was warm up to 27 degree
warm we were freezing at the lake.
